cd=compact disc
It was in 1991. I remember because I went to asian camp up in Seattle. It was my first trip away from my parents and siblings (the beginning of the rebellion). There I met a cute boy who was "gothic" although I didn't know it at the time. He was pretty crazy and wild and liked the cure. We hung out all week and the Cure grew on me. I especially liked the song "pictures of you" and still do. After camp and vacation around seattle I signed up for the 9 for 1 BMG deal and got myself the Cure MIXED UP cd. I still have it. It's a great cd and if you haven't heard of it let me know. I'll find a way for you to check it out.
About 200 cds and ~16 years later- in the era of ipods and mp3s- I try to declutter my life without throwing things away I have decided to take on the task of handling the cd footprint in my apt. I have stored memories of each cd, why I bought it who I purchased it with or because of. They hold funny youthful memories. So just changing them to mp3s would be like throwing out old photos. Plus the inserts and backings are cool to check out. I've decided to recycle all the cd jewel cases into a lawn chair (or help others clutter their apts for free) and move all the parts to cd sleeves. hopefully this will make my apartment 2 square feet larger. Its a good use of time especially for someone with so much thinking to block out.
